about-book

The Long Leg of Italy

The Long Leg of Italy is the third in the Just Us Two travel series.

Having only traveled abroad twice in their lives, and that as part of a group, did not daunt Rosie. She wanted to see the world. She had dreams. Rome, Florence,
Venice . . . and beyond. But was this possible? A little voice nagged at the back of her mind. With growing excitement she plotted and planned, then went into action.

So this intrepid couple set off on their own, Just Us Two, as they negotiated their luggage onto aeroplanes, crossed Italy by rail and enjoyed the romance of arriving in Venice by train; finding their water bus waiting to transport them the whole length Grand Canal to their hotel. Well what is Venice but surrounded by water? Unbeknown to them, disaster awaited them at home.
They were so entranced by their adventures that they did it all again!

In The Long Leg of Italy: Explore with Just Us Two, Rosie takes you off the usual tourist trail in the cities of Rome, Florence, Venice, and Sorrento;
into the Alps and Dolomites where they finally see the Lakes Maggiore, Como and Lugano while they discovered many smaller, hidden lakes.
Traveling into the deep south they experience the contrast with the north and the rugged, charming beauty of Puglia, the cave dwellings in Basilicata, and the jewel of Calabria – Altomonte – high in the mountains in the foot of Italy between Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas.
